1932 Ford Coupe

Powerhouse Hot Rods loves a challenge and has taken this rod from good to award-winning.

2009 Syracuse Nationals Winner: “Best Ford in a Ford”

With classic lines and undeniable heritage, the ‘32 Ford Coupe is the embodiment of a street rod. This 3-window sits on a set of boxed frame rails with custom shock mounts. The hood has a special one-off mounting system, and the firewall is polished stainless steel. The coupe has power windows and door poppers along with the power trunk lid with all the wiring run through the frame to keep the underside as clean as the top. Under the hood is a Ford 302 crate engine that has been dressed with aluminum GT40 heads and bracketed by a Ford AOD trans.

A stainless steel oval tube exhaust system custom bent to tuck underneath neatly expels gases. A Ford 9” rear with 3.55 gears helps the rear tires transfer power to the pavement. The body sprayed with a custom mixed PPG red and buffed to a mirror-like finish. For a final touch, 5 spokes and big 5 spokes were added for the perfect hot rod rake. Since leaving Powerhouse Hot Rods, the coupe won Street Rodder Magazine’s Best Ford in a Ford award at the 2009 Syracuse Nationals, showing that hard work pays off.
